In 2009 the obesity levels in MexicoCaught his attention ...and Solve the Problem.
How ?
Swimming at an altitude of 2316.48 meters above sea level.
Biking on paths winding and narrow, muddy or rocky at altitudes ranging from 2200 m. to 4461 m.
Running over 5 different levels of terrain and surfaces, at altitudes from 2200 m. to 4461 m.

Who ?
Why Zapata Ironman ???Zapata Ironman sets new sports goals every year, finding ways to keep his training both interesting and unique. The challenge for 2014 is a 1000 hour triathlon.....really a 3000 hour triathlon, since he plans to complete 1000 hours in each of the three disciplines:
1000 hours of swimming,
1000 hours of biking, and
1000 hours of running/walking.

According to previous events, different distances were estimated for each of the disciplines.
For swimming it was 2,000 miles @ 50 weeks, 40 miles per week and finally exceeded 2,525.44 miles in just 26 weeks, almost half the time.
For cycling, it exceeded 1,024 hours, achieving a total of 19, 115 miles and in just 9 months.
For Running / Jogging / Walking, a record of 5,500 miles @ 1,000 hours was estimated. Finally, 6,144 miles in 1,024 hours were achieved.
