A year later, she accompanied me for the entire 24-hour event. During that time, we had a \u201crough\u201d training session. We left for the desert early, and we started walking short distances (one way, starting from the airport park, not including leaving home): 1 mile, 5 miles, 9 miles. We covered more and more routes, including breakfasts we prepared the day before; we walked at a steady pace together. There were so many anecdotes, like when we were having breakfast and she saw a deer crossing (I was looking the other way) and she yelled, \u201cA deer.\u201d I jumped with the camera to see if I could \u201ccatch\u201d it with a video, but no matter how hard I ran, I didn\u2019t catch it. We also visited Agua Prieta, where we tried different dishes: &#8220;Tortas el Rinconcito,&#8221; &#8220;Tatos Pizza,&#8221; &#8220;Panaderia Los Pinos,&#8221; &#8220;AP&#8217;a Taco,&#8221; &#8220;El Pollo Loco,&#8221; and &#8220;La Palapa.&#8221; We took advantage of the opportunity to visit our friends and hike outside of Agua Prieta, all with the goal of training &#8220;Werita&#8221; for the upcoming 144-hour Ultramarathon and 24-hour RFL. As our first engagement anniversary approached, we had a unique event because it rained a lot, especially at night, and our change of clothes got wet. &#8220;Werita&#8221; applied all the experience from our training.
